Story

Sometimes all it takes is a good shape and a strong color.
This vase by Kaj Frank from the Finnish glassworks Nuutajärvi Notsjö thrives on precisely this reduction. The silhouette is calm and balanced, almost self-evident – nothing distracts, nothing is accidental.

The glass, in a deep violet hue, appears almost black or surprisingly transparent depending on the light. It is precisely this interplay of light and shadow that gives the vase its unique presence. It works just as convincingly without flowers as with a single branch.

An authentic piece of Finnish design culture – clearly conceived, precisely executed, and timeless in its effect.
