Story
Brutalism has little to do with the German concept of brutality. Brutalism is an architectural movement of modernism that spread across all continents in the 1960s and remained prevalent until the 1980s. Proponents of this style believed that modern industrialized societies needed art that was as powerful as possible. They should experience a "spiritual liberation, be brought to seeing, and experience sensuality instead of commerce." This is also reflected in the underlying French word "brut," which means not only "raw" but also "rough," "coarse," "harsh," or "honest." This small object, at 11 cm high and weighing 1.1 kilograms, has an exceptional presence. The bronze sculpture is perfect for desks and, coincidentally, has the ideal dimensions for business cards.
