Story
I'm at a campsite somewhere on the border between Eindhoven and Brussels. Last night, when the sign with the tent appeared before my tired eyes, it was like a liberation – finally, sleep! Today, after brushing my teeth and my first Bialetti gas stove coffee, wide awake, I use Google's "nearby" search to find out where a "brocante" is. The selection is usually fantastic in this area, and I choose a specific dealer simply because I like the name. Twenty minutes later, I enter Mr. Van Leeuwen's domain. Yes, this is exactly the kind of place I like: furniture, lamps, clocks, cutlery, knick-knacks, and odd garden items everywhere. I gather up three Louis Kahlún lamps and several pieces of furniture and negotiate the price with the friendly owner. We come to an agreement, and I can park my campervan right in front of his shop. While packing, I feel like a little boy and can hardly wait to be back at the campsite and dive into the research; a Belgian beer will certainly accompany me, after all, I now know in which country I spent the night.
No dents, no signs of aging on the paintwork, beautiful patina
