Story
Many of Arne Jacobsen's design projects were strongly influenced by organic forms. From this, Jacobsen developed objects reminiscent of the formal language of abstract art, characterized by a concise and clear design.
One reason for this emphasis in the design field was likely Jacobsen's affinity for nature: Jacobsen was a passionate botanist.
Several of his seating designs , created from 1950 onwards, became popular. These bear names such as The Ant , The Egg , The Swan , Grand Prix , and Series 7. The latter is the best-selling chair of all time. All of his seating designs were developed in collaboration with the Fritz Hansen company , which continues to produce them today.
