Story
I was traveling in Belgium with my two daughters, and we were just about to buy a B&O stereo system when a cloudburst hit us. Everything had to happen quickly. The dealer piled the items onto some armchairs, threw a thick linen sheet over them, while the rain poured down. I wanted to know the price before the electronics were completely submerged. "With armchairs?" he asked. "Yessss, they're great, hurry up!" I said, and in a flash, I bought what felt like half the stall and got the car. Back at the campsite, the two cantilever chairs proved to be incredibly comfortable. We made a fire and prepared dinner. The chairs were quite worn, but we had a cool outdoor living room. Back in Linz, I gave the 1960s cantilever chairs to a fellow craftsman who restored them from scratch and reupholstered them with a special synthetic leather. This leather, with its matte black color, is not only very elegant but also very resistant to cat and dog claws. Any design enthusiast with pets will be delighted with this piece, as it's scratch-resistant. Those of you without pets will appreciate the easy-care upholstery. Not to mention the striking presence this pair makes when placed in a living room. (Price per piece: €1,299)
